These are pictures of a crepe myrtle blossom in my backyard. I love these trees. They are so beautiful this time of year.

A Series of Accidents

So as you can see I am no professional photographer but I do have a knack for being in the right place at the right time. This goes for photography and for other parts of my life as well. I just seem to always be there when the time is right. This picture was taken awhile ago but it captures that theme of happy accidents so well. This is my sweet puppy Chelsea at Pride last year. She was sitting so still that we balanced this full lemonade on her head and she didn't even notice. Nope it isn't a photoshop trick. This really happened! I have the picture to prove it!

This is a shot of my new cat Ruthie. She was watching the birds on the hedge next to the window and I caught her. She is a funny little cat. She always puts her paws up on things and leans in. This is how she drinks water too. She puts her paws on the edge of the water bowl and leans over like it is a tiny lake.

This is a shot taken at Hon Fest 09 in Baltimore. These ladies were dancing to the band playing just across the street and I caught them lookin' sharp in their Honfest attire. I knew taken out of context this picture would be really funny. Enjoy.

Fall comes creeping in one branch at a time

This is a tree in between my office and my partner's office. It was another hot day and I was strolling over to meet her so that we could make our way home. This tree sits right next to a bridge so I was actually up in the canopy of our local woods. I like the contrast of the dead branch against the green leaves. I also love taking pictures of bark and stone. The textures of the two are something that I really enjoy.

Fresh

These pictures I took yesterday right after work. It is of the fish pond right outside my building. Yesterday was one of the hottest days we have had here in Baltimore this summer. It was 102 degrees with high humidity. You really can't tell how hot it was by looking at these pictures...but I was sweating!

I love the green in the pond. It looks so inviting and cool. On such a hot day a dip in this little pond with the fish seemed like it would feel good.

SOGH

This is a picture of our new artwork in our kitchen! The paintings are by Shawn Theron or SOGH and he has become a fast and wonderful friend of ours. He uses scrap wood and paint to get this lovely affect! I love his work with color and I think we are most likely going to keep filling our walls with more of his paintings! Motion

I had fun with motion yesterday. It seemed interesting to me to catch a snap of motion and see the power behind these puppies at play. The first picture is a quick catch of a cardinal in flight. It is small and hard to see but it is there....next look at Lucy's stretching muscles in her legs! The lab puppy is my neighbor's dog.

She and Lucy became fast friends and they love running loops in the yard.

The little puppy leap is one of my favorites. She was jumping up in the air to get me to bring her over to play. As you can see she got her way!

Lucy

So I haven't posted in awhile and mostly it is because I haven't really had time to take pictures...which is a definite bummer.

Here is a picture I took last night of Lucy. Lucy is my cousin's dog and she came direct from Hong Kong. She is a Chinese mix and she is staying with us until after Christmas. She looked like a queen laying out on the hill so I took some shots of her. Ain't she cute!?
